Ice Worm School
An Adept class; in this case In this case the Spirit is an ice worm spirit that normally lives beneath the ice crust of a Europa-like moon. Characters who take the school often end up with a mild case of agoraphobia, a definite fear of heights, and a new appreciation of dark, cold, and wet places.

Ice Guard Tier: 1 Card Type: Defense, Spell Effects: Defense 30 Poise -5 Ice Materializes thick slabs of solid ice between yourself and incoming strikes. While effective, this technique is exhausting. |

Glacier Glands Tier: 1 Card Type: Passive, Signature Effects: Max Poise 6 Init -3 After a while, Ice Worm Adepts start to have small, physical manifestations of their bond. While not obvious at first glance, upon dissection these adepts are found to have small, deep purple glands along their upper thighs which are not found in normal humans. Esoticians theorize that these glands are responsible for the Ice Adept's unnaturally calm and precise actions during combat. |

Hoar Frost Tier: 2 Card Type: Attack, Spell Effects: Init 0 Short Range Attack 10 Lasting Init Mod -5 Poise -5 Ice Con Covers the opponent's body and clothes in a layer of ice, making it more difficult to act. |
Unexpected Inches Tier: 2 Card Type: Attack Effects: Init 3 Extra Move Speed 3 Attack 21 Poise -5 One Use Attacks the opponent as normal. At the last instant of the attack, several inches of sharpened ice form on the end of your weapon, hopefully catching the target by surprise and converting what should have been a clean miss into a damaging hit. |
Ice Clone Tier: 2 Card Type: Defense, Spell Effects: Init 30 Free Move 10 Poise -10 It turns out that PC wasn't where they seemed to be. Instead, that was just a cleverly made ice-clone of the PC that they were using as a distraction. The actual PC is at a different location within 10 spaces of the clone's location. The clone's energy runs out and it will lose all semblance of life as it starts melting and stop moving. |
Snow Storm Tier: 2 Card Type: Utility, Spell Effects: Init 8 Poise -12 One Use Creates a flash snow storm that covers everything in medium range (e.g. 20x20 area). There will be a continual fall of thick snowflakes, and the ground will covered in a light layer of snow. RangedAttacks are at -5 within this area and visibility is generally reduced. The storm will fade within minutes, and the snow will generally melt off within an hour. |
Ice Sculpt Tier: 2 Card Type: Utility, Spell Take ice, water, or even the humidity in the air and shape it into the form that you desire. This is a moderately slow process; 1 cubic foot of sculpting would take 20 seconds given a ready supply of water. The sculpting takes longer if you want fine detail in the work. The result is not magical, but is potentially beautiful and useful. E.g. crafting an ice door, an ice raft, and ice bridge, etc. |
Ice Affinity Tier: 2 Card Type: Passive Effects: Ice Defense 4 Increased affinity with your Spirit lets you share in its cold resistance. You are unbothered by normal cold, and even magical or extreme cold temperatures are not as harmful to you. |

While this attack is difficult to land, it is exceptionally deadly. |
Ice Tomb Tier: 3 Card Type: Attack, Spell Effects: Init 6 One Use Entombs the PC in a 5 foot thick layer of ice. The PC cannot act until they escape the ice. If the PC wants, they can relatively rapidly melt out of the ice (5 turns). Alternatively, they can make peace with the ice, enter a state of suspended animation, and only regain consciousness once the ice has melted away. The PC needs to decide which course to take soon after this is cast. Waiting too long to choose a course of action can lead to a quick suffocation. |
Icy Blood Tier: 3 Card Type: Attack, Spell Effects: Init 0 Short Range Attack 10 Lasting Malus 2 Lasting Move Speed Mod -1 Poise -10 Ice Con Begins the process of turning the target into a solid block of ice. Freezes their blood and creates ice and frost on their body. Will quickly freeze most creatures into immobility. |
Ice Wall Tier: 3 Card Type: Defense Effects: Init 8 Poise -10 One Use Creates a 1x5 wall of ice immediately in front of the PC. The wall is 8ft high, 1ft wide, and sufficient to block everything short of siege weapons. Stops movement too and is quite difficult to scale. |
